This quilt was done using a custom design.  The large log areas gave me lots of open space to get creative.

Pearl swirl design

Pumpkin quilt

A fun autumn quilt... The customer brought the magazine pattern, and wanted it quilted similar to the picture.  There is a sunflower design in each pumpkin, and loopy swirly designs in the backgrounds and sashing.

Minke backing

Minkes fabric has really become popular lately.  I get lots of questions about using it as a backing for quilts.  I've done quite a few quilts with the minkes, and it quilts up nicely.  

It does have a little stretch to it, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems.  I do need 4-6 inches past the edge of the quilt top on all sides to work with.  So if your quilt is 50 x 70, then you'd need a backing piece 58 x 78 or larger.  

The minkes can be pieced to make a larger backing of needed, or Roellofs store carries wide minkee, too.

Holiday quilts

I have been getting quite a few calls with quilts lately, and my schedule is now filled until after Christmas.  If you've already made arrangements for a quilts to be done before Christmas, your name is on the list & I am planning on getting it done, but will be unable to fit in any more until January. 

It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only just over 2 weeks away, and then Christmas will be here before we know it!

Embroidered quilt

Here is another embroidered baby quilt.  I quilted the center area with a cross-hatching pattern, then outlined the figures that go around the verse, and did a simple meander on the outside border area.  

woodsy quilt

This panel quilt was finished using a pattern called "Deer Crossing" by Anne Bright.  I fit perfectly with the print in the quilt top.

Embroidered butterfly quilt- I used the "Tangled" pattern by Anne Bright, it made me think of the way butterflies fly around in the wind.

New pattern available at Roelofs

Just quilted up this lap-sized quilt that will be at Roelof's store as a sample for the pattern they are carrying called "Chopsticks" by Jaybird Quilts.  Aren't the blues & greens pretty in this quilt?

I quilted it using the "Asian Leaves" pattern.  

Summer quilting

School is out for the year... which means less time in the quilting studio.  I will still be doing quilts this summer, but I may not get them back to you as fast as I do when the kids are at school.  If you have a quilt with a deadline, make sure to get on the schedule early, so that you will be able to have your quilt back by the time you need it.

rainbow quilt

Aren't the colors striking in this Trip Around the World quilt?  The rainbow colors and verse are so pretty.  The customer requested the Baptist Fans pattern, which works so well with the rainbow theme.
